The challenge
A multispeciality hospital with a 24-hour emergency department depends on three moments: a patient searching for the right specialist, a patient deciding whether to trust a doctor, and a family that needs the emergency number now. SLG needed a digital front door that handles all three — and stays accurate as doctors, specialties and health packages change.
The objective
Turn search and campaign traffic into appointments and calls: make every specialty and every doctor findable, put booking and calling one tap away, and let the hospital’s own staff keep the site current without a developer.
Strategy
Structure the site the way patients search — by specialty, by doctor and by health check — so each specialty and doctor page can be found and can convert on its own. Keep emergency contact in the header of every page, back each specialty with patient-education content, and measure what matters: appointment requests and calls.
Architecture
- Next.js, server-rendered, so every specialty, doctor and article is complete in the HTML search engines read.
- 18 specialty hubs linked to the doctors who practise them, and a doctor directory with search and a specialty filter.
- A profile page for every doctor, each at its own readable web address.
- Health packages, patient information, TPA and empanelment pages for the questions patients ask before they visit.
- Hospital, WebSite and WebPage structured data, unique titles and descriptions, and a sitemap covering 92 pages.
Design
Calm and clinical: a navy header that keeps the 24×7 emergency numbers and a “Book appointment” button visible on every page, a serif headline — “Multispeciality care, closer to home.” — over the hospital’s own interior, and generous spacing so patients and worried families can scan quickly.
Implementation
- A staff sign-in and content-management system, so the hospital team adds and updates doctor profiles, specialties and articles themselves.
- Doctor profiles publish only what the hospital has confirmed: names, specialties and qualifications are checked before they go live.
- A professionally edited video introducing the hospital’s doctors, for the website and social channels.
- 30+ health guides on the conditions patients search for — knee pain, kidney stones, heart health, pregnancy, cancer screening — each linked to the relevant specialty.
- Click-to-call emergency and appointment numbers across the site, and a dedicated appointment-booking page.
- Search optimisation and paid campaigns, with analytics measuring what each one produces.
Technology
- Next.js
- Custom CMS with staff sign-in
- Google Tag Manager
- Google Analytics
- Schema.org structured data
- XML sitemap
Analytics and measurement
Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics run site-wide, so traffic and campaign performance are measured and the actions that matter — appointment requests and calls — can be tracked back to their source.

What we learned
- Patients search for the doctor and the condition, not the hospital. Specialty and doctor pages do the selling.
- Accuracy beats completeness on a medical site: publish only what the hospital has confirmed.
- If a hospital can’t update its site itself, the site goes stale within months. The CMS is part of the growth system, not an extra.
- The emergency number belongs on every page. Some visitors aren’t browsing; they’re in a hurry.
